Getting started with NS Helpdesk for WooCommerce
NS Helpdesk gives WooCommerce customers a private place to open tickets, read replies, and search help articles. Start with the steps for your edition below. For the complete setup and troubleshooting instructions, read the NS Helpdesk user guide.
Lite: first ticket
- Activate WooCommerce and NS Helpdesk Lite for WooCommerce. Lite requires WordPress 7.0 or newer and PHP 8.3 or newer.
- In Helpdesk Lite → Settings, set the Inbox notification email.
- Customers use My Account → Support Tickets to create and track their tickets. A separate support page can use the NS Helpdesk Portal block or the ns_helpdesk shortcode.
- Create a test ticket as a customer, reply from the shared staff inbox, and verify the customer sees the reply and receives the notification email.
Pro: license and team setup
When upgrading, deactivate Lite before activating Pro; existing tickets and articles remain available. The license key and token arrive by email after a completed checkout. Enter them under Helpdesk → License. Configure the support page and notification address in Settings, then test outbound email. Use Departments and Support Agent users to distribute tickets. Reply by email needs a connected IMAP mailbox and a working WordPress scheduler. AI drafting is optional and requires your own OpenAI API key; an agent reviews every draft before it is sent.
